Butterflies, bees, and flowers for the garden

Shortly after the pandemic began, I was lucky to get three orders to help kick off my new Bread and Butter Studios business. The first order was from some very good friends over in Bend, and the other was from good friends of theirs, who live in Portland, but saw my work and wanted their own, and the last was from another mutual friend in Hillsboro. It was a great boon, as I was really having a major depressive episode, and this helped pull me out of it. I was able to create some new flowers and two new butterflies that really lifted my spirits and helped keep me moving forward daily.

I just delivered these beauties to their respective clients, and they all love them. Whew! I am already on to my next commission, an address mosaic for a house in Ashland, OR, which will be installed onto a boulder out in front of their fence. I was left free rein to do whatever I wanted, so we will see how that develops in the next few days or weeks…

I also created another flower and a grapefruit mosaic, in addition to adding several Mini Mosaics to my shop. More about that next!
